Open Service Panel

Ever wonder about a really effective way to electrocute someone? Leaving a gaping hole in a breaker panel is a good start.

The yellow circle highlights a void in the panel left by the removal of a 40 amp stove breaker. It looks harmless enough so what’s the big deal?

All it takes is a curious child or careless adult to reach into the void and touch the metal strip at the back, called a buss bar and all the electricity in the home could be flowing through them.

This sounds dangerous right. That’s because it is and the amazing part is a cover plate cost next to nothing. They just pop into place.
