Galvanized Piping
The copper coloured supply pipes along the baseboard have been painted. They are actually galvanized steel pipes in an older home.
Their grayish metal finish and the threaded fitting used to change directions can normally identify these pipes.Galvanized piping is known to fail at its threaded fittings, as you can see in the center of this picture by the leak and rust stain running down the baseboard.
These pipes deterirorated from the interior causing a decrease in the flow of water. In this particular house to run a bath would have probably taken a half a day.
